Institutions Eat Local!

September 20, 21 & 22, 2021

 

During these days, Aliments du Québec au menu invited all Quebec institutions to organize events in their community to promote the importance of discovering, preparing and sampling Quebec products!

In total, more than a hundred institutions joined the movement and nearly 19,000 people participated in the 3rd edition of the event. Various actions have been put in place to highlight local foods: harvest menu, thematic activity, cooking class, meeting with a farmer, tasting of little-known products and more! Institutions Eat Local! event is developed by Aliments du Québec au menu and Équiterre, in partnership with Défi 100% local and the ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ).

Participants

This event was intended for all institutional establishments, both private and public:

  • Early childhood services (childcare centres and daycares)
  • Primary and secondary schools
  • Cegeps and universities
  • Healthcare establishments
  • Workplaces
  • Various organizations (NPOs, recreational or community organizations, organizations promoting healthy lifestyles)
  • Companies, suppliers or distributors

Congratulations on the originality and diversity of your activities: Songs on the theme of fruits and vegetables, “Seek and find” game, picking apples and plums, harvesting potatoes and discussing the different ways of preparing them.
